Maximize your impact

About the Challenge

Our client, a leading distributor of chemicals and raw materials such as steel and polymers, has recently embarked on a digital transformation. They've replaced their legacy systems and are at the start of a 5-year roadmap that's all about data and digitalisation. Do you want to be part of this journey and play a key role in the future of this global company?

As a Back-End Developer, you will be working on applications that are critical to the client's business, helping them to further optimise and digitise the way they work.

Your responsibilities will include

• Developing, testing and deploying Java-based server applications

• Investigating and resolving back-end technical issues

• Working with the Lead Developer to highlight the pitfalls and benefits of different technical solutions for the user stories

• Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in back-end development and the Java ecosystem

You'll be joining a large organisation with a start-up mentality. The offices are easily accessible by car (2 minutes from the motorway exit & parking available). You will be able to work from home 2 days a week.

Your skills

Our client is still in the early stages of its digital journey. This means there are many opportunities to be part of the future of this digital transformation roadmap. If you like to share your ideas and have an impact on a global organisation, this is the ideal place for you to grow. However, it also means that you need to be able to deal with some chaos from time to time, as the structure is not yet fully defined.

We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree

• Ideally, you've already had some work experience

• You're used to working in an agile (Scrum) environment.

• Technical experience: Java, Spring, Microsoft SQL Server

• Entrepreneurial and dynamic attitude

• A hands-on mentality

• Strong communication skills

• Thrive in a multicultural environment

• Fluency in English, Dutch is a plus
